Southern Grace Hospice was founded by a nurse with a passion to change end of life care. While working as a nurse for several other large hospice companies, she often found herself limited in the care she could provide for her patients and their families. Many times, the care her families needed and deserved was limited by leaders who were not focused on patient care, but instead on profit margins and corporate gain. Day after day, she prayed that her patients would one day be able to receive the care that she desired to provide. As she continued to pray, God blessed her with the vision of Southern Grace Hospice, a hospice that is truly patient centered, a hospice where employees are encouraged to provide extraordinary care, and a hospice that serves as a pillar in our community.
We at Southern Grace Hospice not only take care of those with a terminal illness, but we strive to uplift and serve our community and its citizens in all walks of life. We are a hospice that focuses on life and living instead of death and dying. We employ the most elite healthcare providers, and we care for our employees like family. In turn, our employees treat their patients like family. Our team members do not view the care we provide as “work”, but instead a ministry in which we can serve and better the lives of those around us. Southern Grace Hospice was born to “Bear ye one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). With the lowest staff-to-patient ratios in the area, we are able to spend more time with our patients and strive to go the extra mile.
We take pride in focusing on the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our patients and families. Their overall wellness is our top priority. Because we are not profit driven, we are able to provide extra services such as arts and crafts, music therapy, pet therapy, and we are the only hospice in the area with a full-time therapist on staff. Because we have leaders who truly care and have the desire to serve, we are committed to delivering compassionate and holistic end of life care. We have no desire to become the biggest hospice provider. We only desire to maintain our reputation of being the best.
