The Southern Grace Hospice Foundation

The Southern Grace Hospice Foundations mission is to enrich the lives of terminally ill patients by providing support, education, and outreach to our community. You can honor your loved one and support others by contributing. Your tax-deductible donation may buy groceries, pay a utility bill or help a family member travel to see a dying loved one.

When you give to the Southern Grace Hospice Foundation, you help us continue to enrich lives. We treat the whole person and their loved ones in ways that touch the human spirit—adding days to life and life to days. As a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.

WHAT YOUR GIFT CAN DO

  • Coronavirus Food & Toiletry Packages

Seniors and our terminally ill population are our most vulnerable, and we need your help providing them with the necessary food and supplies that will allow them to stay home as advised. Many seniors live on a fixed income and are not able to purchase large quantities of the items that so many have stocked up on. Our grocery store shelves are empty, and our most vulnerable patients and their families must stay home as advised by the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.

The most urgently needed items are:

    • Hand Sanitizer
    • Clorox Wipes
    • Non-perishable food items like canned goods and crackers
    • Toilet Paper
    • Paper Towels
    • Gatorade
    • Ensure
    • Frozen Meals

Southern Grace Hospice is currently creating food and toiletry boxes for seniors and other vulnerable citizens of our community who are currently confined to their homes.

Items can be dropped off at either of our office locations:

    Southern Grace Community Center

    79 Lawrenceville Street

    McDonough, GA 30252

    Southern Grace Hospice

    80 Candler Road

    McDonough, GA 30253

  • Emergent Financial Support

Too often, families fall into financial crisis when caring for a dying loved one. The foundation will assist with utility bills, food, and shelter costs for those in need.

  • Children’s Bereavement Camp

Children ages 5-17 in your area who have recently lost a loved one enjoy a healing and supportive atmosphere free of charge.

  • Memorial Butterfly Release

Families release a butterfly in honor of their loved one each year at our annual memorial butterfly release.

  • Community Education

Far too many people are unaware of the importance of the hospice benefit in the continuum of care. Nearly half of hospice patients receive care for a week or less, when the benefit is available for the last 6 months of life. The Southern Grace Hospice Foundation funds educational programs to increase awareness about the hospice benefit.

  • Southern Grace Make a Wish Campaign

A terminally ill patient may dream of going on a long-delayed honeymoon, attending a family reunion out of state or seeing a final game by a favorite sports team. Granting a wish creates lasting memories for patients and their loved ones.
