Essential Functions
The Hospice Aide is a paraprofessional member of the interdisciplinary group who works under the supervision of a registered nurse and performs various services for a patient as necessary to meet the patient’s personal needs and to promote comfort. The hospice aide is responsible for observing the patient, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. The Hospice Aide will be assigned in a manner that promotes the quality, continuity, and safety of a patient’s care.

Education and Experience Requirements
Meets the training requirements of the state. Current and valid CNA license. Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training. Sixteen hours of classroom must be completed prior to a mandatory 16 hours of practical training.
Certificates and License Requirements
Valid drivers’ license and good driving record is required
Current valid CNA license in Georgia
CPR Certification
Valid automobile insurance per policy
Reliable transportation

Primary functions are to administer skilled nursing care for clients of all ages in their place of residence, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, patient/family and referring agency; and assumes the responsibility for coordination of care.

Education and Experience Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, Baccalaureate, or Masters School of Nursing. Two years of experience as an RN in a clinical care setting preferred. Knowledge and experience with end-of-life disease processes and terminal symptom management. Computer literate, proficient in Word. Must have strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
